Compact Binaries And/Or Black-Holes, Atca

Scientific paper

We propose to obtain deep radio map of Omega Cen and 47 Tuc with the upgraded ATCA in order to search for intermediate-mass black holes in globular clusters. Based on theoretical prediction, if globular clusters contain some amount of ionzied gas, the intermediate-mass black hole at the center will accrete the gas and emit radio emission. In particular, recent optical observations reveal that Omega Cen and 47 Tuc may host an IMBH. They are therefore ideal targets to perform a deep radio imaging survey to search for IMBHs.
