Results are presented of a search for the tracks of superheavy galactic cosmic ray nuclei in meteorite olivine crystals. Nuclear tracks were investigated in samples of olivines from the Mar'ialakhti, Eagle Station and Lipovskii Khutor meteorites obtained at depths of 2 to 6 cm from the meteorite surface. On the basis of considerations of etchable track length and of calibrations by accelerated heavy ions, over 5500 tracks associated with cosmic ray nuclei of atomic number greater than 50 were found, in an abundance consistent with distributions noted in direct recording experiments and in the solar system. Artificial annealing of the nuclear tracks was used to increase the recording threshold of the tracks of heavy nuclei, resulting in the detection of about 150 tracks associated with the nuclei of the uranium group and a single 365-micron long track identified with a nucleus of Z greater than or equal to 110.
