The decays B → K l^+ l^- and B → K^* l^+ l^- probe the flavor-changing neutral current process b → s l^+ l^- and are sensitive to physics beyond the standard model. We present updated results of a search for these decays, using data collected by the BABAR detector during the 1999-2001 runs at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC.
