An emission band corresponding to the B-X transition in the HgF molecule has been recorded in spectra of the plasma produced by a high-voltage repetitively pulsed discharge in the vapor of mercury difluoride and trifluoromethylmercury fluoride. This indicates that it is expedient to utilize pumping methods based on the scheme of dissociative excitation in attempts to implement the HgF laser.
