First results from the search for new supernova remnants are presented. Two new low surface-brightness supernova remnant candidates are identified towards the Galactic anticentre using the NRAO/VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) and the Effelsberg 1.4 GHz survey (EMLS).
The method of identification is to search for faint filamentary structures in the EMLS after confusing compact NVSS sources have been subtracted. Some faint diffuse structures are shell like and resemble low surface-brightness supernova remnant.
