We present the results of a millimetric search for high redshift LiH lines carried out at the IRAM 30 m telescope. These lines are expected to be emitted in collapsing protoclouds. Seven high latitude regions have been observed at frequencies around 220 GHz, where two rotovibrational branches of LiH can be observed at redshifts of the order of 180. These observations set a 95 percent upper limit of the order of 20 mK for the intensity of the LiH lines. The corresponding upper limits on the LiH abundance and on the clouds density are discussed.
