The UTR-2 catalogue (Braude et al. 1978-1994) of 1754 decametric radio sources (from 10 to 25 MHz) covers ˜30% of the sky and is the lowest-frequency radio source sample currently available. By comparison with other radio source catalogues we constructed radio continuum spectra for objects of UTR catalog, inspected their neighbourhood in NVSS maps. We isolate a few examples of faint, previously unknown but very extended (10' < LAS < 18') FR I type radio galaxies. A comparison with samples studied by others suggests that the fraction of ultra-steep spectrum =46R II type sources (α gs 1.0) is of order 10% of all UTR sources. We also conclude that over half of all UTR sources may be blends of one or many sources in the UTR beam and unrelated to each other. On the other hand, with the complete NVSS and the Digitized Sky Survey(s) it should be straightforward to double the number of optically identified UTR sources from currently ˜19% to nearly 40%. The list of possible AGN (FRI I, FR II and QSRs) is given. Distributions of spectral indices at different frequencies are shown.
