We analyze a sample of about 8000 stars extracted from the Sloan Digital
Sky Survey with Teff in the range 4500-7000 K and log g greater than 2.0
dex as estimated by comparing measured and synthetic Lick indices. We
present preliminary results on the dependence of the α-enhancement
phenomenon on the stellar metallicity and on the galactic position.
