The spatial-frequency correlation function for saturated scintillations of a radio source of finite angular size is analyzed in the context of the thin-phase-screen and extended-medium models. It is shown that the frequency-correlation radius and the characteristic scale of the diffraction pattern are practically independent of angular source size in the extended-medium model, while the dependence of these two parameters on source size is rather strong in the thin-screen model. It is concluded that this situation opens the possibility of using differential measurements at two spaced frequencies to observe quasar scintillations due to interstellar plasma inhomogeneities.
