Magellan's scientific findings obtained with the SAR imaging system are briefly described. Using the onboard SAR imager, Magellan has mapped nearly all the surface of Venus. The global database supports geologic studies of volcanism, plate tectonics, impact processes, and surface properties. A new estimate for the radius of Venus of 6051.84 km was derived from the altimetry data.
