Saturn: Observations, Saturn Atmosphere

Observations by UAI Planetary Section, Saturn Program, from 2000 July to 2001 April are presented. No meaningful changes in colour, intensity or latitude were detected on the planet compared to the 1999-2000 apparition. Saturn showed in general a weak atmospheric activity, though some interesting features were detected in the Equatorial Zone. The northern hemisphere was invisible due to the high tilt angle (-23.6° at opposition). Feature's latitude (both in planetocentric and planetographic co-ordinates), colour and intensity estimates, based on visual observations, photos and CCD frames, are also given.
