Photoelectric UBV observations of the short-period eclipsing binary RW Dor are presented; they were obtained at the Bosque Alegre Station of Cordoba Observatory. RW Dor is a W-type contact system showing a significant temperature difference between the components. The orbital period and ephemeris are analyzed from eight photographic minima and from 27 photoelectric minima. The light curves were analyzed by the Wilson-Devinney computational code. The large range for the possible values of the mass ratio, q, makes the need of a spectroscopic determination clear. The observed asymmetry in the light curves is interpreted as a hot spot localized on the trailing hemisphere of the larger component. An estimate of the temperature of the spot is given.
