An optical study of the Sc galaxy NGC 2776 is described. Blue and red photographs show a nucleus surrounded by two principal far-stretching spiral arms. Image tube spectra (in the range 6450-6800 A) lead to a symmetrical rotation curve. A mass of 7.3 x 10 to the 10th solar masses (out to a distance of 65 arcmin) and a mass-luminosity ratio of 3.8 were determined assuming a distance of 28.4 Mpc. The photometric study showed an increase of H-alpha/N II forbidden line ratio across the arms and indicated a moderate value of excitation for the galaxy as a whole, making it an early type Sc.
