EXSAS, based on the ESO--MIDAS image processing system, is a large software system for interactive analysis of X-ray and XUV data from the ROSAT satellite. A multitude of typical applications and utilities in the areas of data preparation, correction of instrumental effects, spatial, spectral and timing analysis have been implemented in a coherent context. The package is portable and may be requested from the ROSAT Scientific Data Center at Garching.
