Two rocket experiments were designed to measure the X-ray emission from two supernova remnants. In the first experiment a Skylark SL 1105 rocket with a telescope consisting of reflecting mirrors for focusing X-rays onto a positional sensitive detector was used to study emission from the Vela nebula. In the second experiment a Skylark SL 1304 rocket was used to observe the occultation of the Crab nebula by the moon on October 7, 1974.
