Gabbro, dolerite, and basalt are mare-type rocks found in Luna-24 samples, while plagioclase (An 80-96), clinopyroxenes of different composition, and olivine (Fa 23-99) are the main rockforming minerals. The prevalence of other minerals is examined. Two main types of rocks, crystoballite-type gabbro and olivine-type gabbro, are distinguished, while the dolerites are considered to be intermediate. Luna-24 rocks are Al2O3-rich low-titanium basalts with low amounts of alkalis
