The results of a feasibility study on an X-ray satellite (ROBISAT) are summarized. Within the framework of this study alternative systems concepts were analyzed, and a preferred satellite concept has evolved for a telescope with 80 cm aperture. It is shown that the required sky survey can easily be accomplished by means of a spinning satellite in a Sun-synchronous dawn-dusk orbit.
