An attempt is made to study the problem of the Lyttleton-Bondi universe for the Robertson-Walker metric with nonzero cosmological constant mu. It is shown that in the presence of cosmological constant the Lyttleton-Bondi universe does not survive. The exterior solution of this universe is then nothing but the empty space-time of general relativity. Field equations are presented.
