New photometric and spectroscopic data are presented for the southern ring galaxy AM 064-741. The ring nucleus has a systemic velocity of 6749 + or - 67 km/s and shows rapid rotation both in the emission- and absorption-line spectrum; however, the gas appears to be rotating a factor of three times faster than the stellar component. Twenty-two radial velocity measurements of H II regions around the ring show that the ring is rotating at 311 + or - 19 km/s and expanding/contracting at 128 + or - 14 km/s. A companion near an extension of the minor axis of the ring is identified as the intruder responsible for the ring formation.
