The reddening-function and logarithmic space density-functions for main-sequence stars of different M(G)-intervals and for late-type giants in the Milky Way field SA 193 are derived and compared with a set of multicomponent models. Two thin absorbing screens (corresponding to the borders of the interarm-region between the local and the next-inner spiral arm in this direction) and an extended absorbing cloud at r of greater than 6 kpc are revealed by the reddening function. The observed density-histograms roughly follow the zero-gradient expected for this direction. The Bahcall-Soneira (1980) two-component model and Gilmore-Wyse (1985) four-component model gradients have been plotted into the density-histograms and the corresponding luminosity-functions, together with that of Gliese (1969) for the solar neighborhood r of less than 22 pc.
