Eclipsing Binary Stars, Stellar Spectrophotometry, Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram, Light Curve, Stellar Luminosity, Stellar Mass, Tables (Data)
Scientific paper
Photometric light curves of 14 double-lined eclipsing binaries, known as detached systems, have been analyzed by means of the Wood program in order to obtain homogeneous photometric elements. Masses, radii, and luminosities are given. V382 Cyg appears to be a contact binary. Sigma Aql, WW Aur, AR Aur, CW Cep, V453 Cyg, RX Her, and U Oph are normal detached systems easily interpreted in the context of current evolutionary views. The detached binaries ZZ Cep and IM Mon are shown to be anomalous. The detached nature of AH Cep, TT Aur, MR Cyg, and VV Ori turns out to be doubtful. Some incoherencies concerning the three latter binaries are also discussed.
