The possibility that resonance stabilization of retrograde rotations of natural celestial bodies occurs in a model system formed by the strong gravitational influence of a central body is examined. The sizes of the bodies forming the system are assumed small relative to the distances to the attracting center and among the bodies. Approximations are made of the presence of an attracting center. The computations demonstrate that, particularly in the case of Venus, stabilization of retrograde rotation does not occur in the model studied.
