The variation of the electron-positron ratio with individual particle energy and core distance in small air showers is investigated experimentally using a 10-MeV-threshold-energy electron-positron spectrograph comprising two pairs of 50 x 20 x 1-cm P10-gas spark chambers separated by an air gap of 50 x 20 x 20 cm in a 900-G magnetic field, SCR-switching and RC-shaping trigger devices, four 50 x 50 x 5-cm scintillators, and four 20-tube proportional-counter trays. A total of 1940 events (of about 9500 recorded during 150 h) are selected for analysis, and the results are presented in graphs.
