During the 1988 opposition of Mars 856 photographic images of Phobos and 937 images of Deimos were obtained. The mean-square error of coordinate measurements derived from the analysis of 1252 measurements is 0.120 in. This has been achieved due to the excellent seeing conditions of Mount Maidanak and to a unique observational technique. Ephemerides of satellites for the beginning of 1989 calculated from the data presented here are comparable to ephemerides obtained from the whole totality of previous groundbased and space observations.
