Observations of the X-ray source 4U1700-37 with the WATCH instrument on board the Granat observatory during the period from September 1991 through October 1992 are reported. The orbital period of the binary is found to decrease at a rate of (4.13 +/- 0.19) x 10 exp -6/yr. Light curves which demonstrate the strong variability of the X-ray flux from the source on different time scales are presented. The obtained orbital phase curves of 4U1700-37 are virtually symmetric in relation to the orbital phase of 0.5 in the 8-60 keV energy band.
