Numerical simulation results on the movement of magnetospheric electric fields to low latitudes are presented. It is shown that, under quiet conditions, when the field-aligned current density in the auroral zone is about 1 x 10 to the -7th A/sq m, the electric fields of magnetospheric origin are small. At current densities greater than about 1 x 10 to the -6th A/sq m, these fields can be comparable to dynamo fields.
