Refined oscillator strengths for resonance transitions of astrophysical interest in neutral chlorine have been calculated with the SUPERSTRUCTURE computer program, taking the most important configuration interaction (CI) and relativistic effects into account. The present results are belived to be the most accurate theoretical data available to date for the transitions considered. Good agreement with recent measurements is reported except for the two transitions 3 p5 -3p4 3d at lambda lambda 1088 and 1097 where discrepancies persist, due to a very strong interaction between the 3d2 D5/2 and 3d2 F5/2 levels, on the one hand, and to a possible experimental misidentification for the same two states, on the other.
