Scientific paper

Some examples of celestial radio sources recently resolved by VLBI observations (especially by the use of the phase closure method) are given, including 3C273B, 3C84, and 3C147. Computer simulations of beam patterns formed by two or three antennas are discussed along with some theoretical formulas. It is concluded that VLBI with antennas mounted on synchronous satellites will make it possible to observe radio stars with high resolution in the hectometric region.
