We describe the history and status of the Beijing Astronomical Data Center and the World Data Center D for Astronomy. We also outline the general data service of the Beijing center and collaboration with other data centers, as well as our plans for setting up an astronomical resource-sharing system based on a workstation and several microcomputers.
