The total energy requirement and the strength of the shock which would
justify the neglect of the internal and the gravitational energy of the
blast wave are discussed. The present work is based on consideration of
the similarity solutions for instantaneous explosion in a stellar model
with continuous density distribution obtained by Carrus et al. (1951)
