It is shown that the properties of relic gravitons depend on the choice
of cosmological wavefunction describing the universe in its classically
forbidden regime. The initial quantum state of gravitons at the
beginning of the classically allowed (inflationary) stage can differ
from the vacuum which leads to experimentally verifiable consequences.
