The relaxation of uniform isotropic magnetized nonrelativistic electron gas in an isotropic nonequilibrium stationary high-intensity radiation field when the basic radiation-electron interaction is Compton scattering and the radiation frequency is greater than cyclotron frequency was considered for the cases when the magnetic field strength is zero and non-zero. The unsteady momentum distribution function and the electron relaxation time were determined, and it was shown that the electron steady state is described by a Maxwell distribution function with the effective temperature depending on the radiation spectrum and the magnetic field energy density. The results can be used for the analysis of the interaction of intense radiation and hot magnetized plasma in pulsar magnetospheres and in compact X-ray sources with magnetized atmospheres.
