We present results on the coalescence of binary neutron star (NS) systems from our new relativistic hydrodynamics code. Using the equations of the conformally flat (CF) formalism, we have combined a spectral-methods field sovler with a smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) evolution treatment, to allow for a combination of high accuracy as well as computational speed. We have tested the code extensively, on a variety of configurations, confirming in the process that quasi-equilibrium NS binary sequences remain stable until the formation of a cusp. We have computed the gravitational waveform for coalescing NS binaries, the first ever produced with a spectral methods code. Additionally, we find that the mass ejected from the system is strongly suppressed due to relativistic effects.
