A statistical analysis was made using the Cambridge 5 km, 5 GHz aperture synthesis data on double radio sources. Highly significant correlations were found between the following pairs of parameters: the energies in the hot spots and the extended regions; their luminosities; energy density in the hot spots and the total luminosity; and the ratio of energy densities and the total luminosity. These correlations exemplify the role of the hot spots in the radio sources.
