Scientific paper

A novel method of field representation in a specified region is proposed
which is based on the expansion of the field in Legendre polynomials.
Based on an analysis of 1980-epoch data for China and the Soviet Union,
a geomagnetic field model is developed for this territory which can be
used as the regional reference field for this epoch.
