Based on a solution to the problem of radio wave reflection from a layered isotropic ionosphere, an algorithm is developed for calculating the complex reflection coefficient for arbitrary nonmonotonic ionospheric profiles. The applicability limits of the approach proposed here are estimated, and results of test calculations are presented. The possibility of registering the effect of group delay resonances is discussed.
