A new local approach for nonlinear (MHD) alpha-omega-dynamos based on the assumptions of weak nonlinearity and axially symmetric magnetic field. The nonlinear behavior of magnetic fields has been found to be described by a generalized time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau equation (TDGL equation). From this TDGL equation, the steady amplitudes of magnetic fields and their modulational stability are determined. Numerical examples have been given for two cases simulating a 'galactic dynamo' and an 'accretion disk dynamo'. In both cases, steady amplitudes exist because of nonlinear feedback originating from the compressibility of conducting gas, and they have turned out to be modulationally stable.
