Blazars are a rare type of AGN with unusual properties as a result of having relativistic jets viewed nearly end-on. The strong Doppler boosting of their synchrotron emission and apparent time compression of their evolutionary timescales makes them ideal for learning about jet structure and kinematics on parsec-scales with VLBI. We discuss results from several recent blazar surveys regarding intrinsic jet speeds and accelerations, as well connections between the broad line region properties of AGN and their jet polarization structure.
