Significant progress has been achieved in the last few years in X-ray pulsar research, including both the ``rotation-powered'' X-ray pulsars and the ``accretion-powered'' X-ray pulsars. In this paper I will review some recent topics, such as detection of X-ray emission and pulsations from known radio pulsars, magnetar interpretation of soft gamma repeaters (SGRs) and anomalous X-ray pulsars (AXPs), discovery of millisecond pulsation in a low mass X-ray binary (LMXB) system, a rush of pulsar discoveries in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC), the doubling of the number of accreting X-ray pulsars, and a soft-excess feature that is seen commonly in the spectra of all sub-classes of accreting X-ray pulsars. .
