Recent optical, IR, and UV observations of Be stars are summarized. Optical observations of the prototype HD 45677 (BE IVe) are described and interpreted in terms of a model in which a normal B-type star is embedded in an extended multicomponent atmosphere. The identification of IR-excess objects on the basis of near-IR HKL photometry and five-band UV photometry from the ANS satellite is discussed.
