In the frame of an on-going validation process, this paper presents the results of three codes presently in use at ESA/ESTEC for computation of the nonequilibrium flowfield encountered in an atmospheric (re)-entry phase and its associated radiation intensity. Two testcases are considered: one for a full CO atmosphere composition and another for a Titan-like atmosphere. The results are compared with data from several experimental emission spectroscopy measurements that have been carried out at the Université Polytechnique de Marseille. This paper responds to the specifications presented in the booklet for TC2, testcase to be presented and discussed in the next High Temperature Gases Radiation Workshop
