(Rb-87)-(Sr-87) analyses are presented for a series of LL chondrites. Ten whole rock meteorites from the set define an isochron age of 4.486 plus or minus 0.020 Ga and initial Sr-87/Sr-86 ratio of 0.69887 plus or minus 0.00012, in agreement with H- and E-type chondrite results. Analyses for Soko Banja (LL4) chondrules yield an isochron of age 4.452 plus or minus 0.020, and a strontium initial ratio of 0.69954 plus or minus 0.00024. No isochron could be derived for the Chainpur (LL3) chondrule, and only a poor one for the Jelica (LL6) density separate, due to terrestrial alteration or to a late isotopic disturbance of the meteorite. The (Rb-87)-(Sr-87) system is also disturbed in the Guidder (LL5) chondrules and Ensisheim (LL6) density separate, perhaps as a consequence of shock. A discussion is given of these results in relation with thermal metamorphism in the LL chondrite parent bodies.
