This is a status report on a RAVE-based study of the age-velocity-metallicity relation in the solar neighborhood. We are using about 1000 subgiants in a narrow range of temperature, selected from the RAVE database. High resolution spectra of these subgiants are acquired with the echelle spectrograph on the ANU 2.3-m telescope, and spectroscopic temperatures gravities and abundances are used to determine isochrone ages. We are developing a pipeline process to measure the stellar parameters. It has three stages: (1) a chi-squared process relative to a grid of model atmospheres with a cosmic abundance distribution is used to get a first estimate of stellar parameters. (2) A model is derived using these parameters. (3) An automated adaptive spectrum synthesis process, based on MOOG, is then used to derive abundances for invividual elements including light elements and alpha, iron-peak, light and heavy s elements and Eu. Preliminary comparisons with a sample of calibration stars observed by others indicates an external 1-sigma uncertainty of about 90K, 0.10 in log g and 0.10 in metallicity [M/H]. This aspect of the RAVE collaboration research is funded by a Discovery Project grant from the Australian Research Council.
