Separated fractions of the Mayo Belwa aubrite were analyzed in order to determine abundances for the rare earth elements (REES). The data showed no ytterbium anomalies, but the feldspar and magnetic fractions indicated complementary anomalies of europium. Separated phases for the total REE abundances in the bulk meteorite were about 0.5 percent chondritic. Partition coefficients for REEs between feldspar and orthopyroxene were about 10 times greater than those of the nearest equivalent terrestrial feldspar/orthopyroxene pairs, implying that the distribution of REES was disturbed by a later event about 4.33 Gyr ago.
