The origin of loop systems is a consequence of the existence of a skin layer in the chromosphere, below the current localization region in the corona. The drift mechanism describes the main features of the loop structures: the local character of motions, the motion of matter from the region of one polarity to another, and the displacement of the 'source' of rapid motions - the saddle point of the magnetic field. All the enumerated features are in agreement with observational data.
