Readily available photographic lenses, many of which contain radioactive
material, were tested as eyepieces. This paper suggests that these are
not used visually unless carefully monitored and found to contain
inactive glass. Active ex-WD yellow filters and a few purpose-designed
active eyepieces are also discussed.
