An investigation of the radio continuum properties of the spiral galaxies which have been classified in the Elmegreen and Elmegreen (1987) arm morphology system reveals no difference in the radio continuum emission (per light unit) for flocculent and grand design spirals. Nor is the X-ray emission (per light unit) of the two classes of spirals different. Furthermore, it is found that flocculent galaxies are more frequently encountered in samples of interacting and binary galaxies than among relatively isolated objects.
