UBVR photometry is presented for 30 radio objects in the ROCOS class. The photometric observations were carried out at five locations in the USSR during the period 1979-1982. A total of 54 sets of UBV magnitudes was obtained as well as 26 R-band magnitudes. Analysis of the color measurements showed that: (1) in the two-color UBV and BVR diagrams, nearly all the rocos points fell within regions occupied by BL Lac objects, suggesting that the two classes are similar; (2) half of the rocos color measurements conformed to a pure power-law optical continuum F(nu) varies as nu exp. alpha, having an index alpha is equal to about -(1-2.5). In the remaining cases, the optical continua deviated from the power law. Some possible physical mechanisms for these deviations are discussed, including synchrotron radiation by relativistic-electron clumps traveling through quasi-regular magnetic fields. The U-B, B-V, V-R colors computed for power law continua (alpha greater than 2.5 but less than -6.5) are given in an appendix, as well as 24 sets of UBV measurement for the BL Lac object OJ 287.
