Scientific paper

The paper examines the possibility of studying the ionospheric plasma on the basis of radio emission from collimated monoenergetic electron beams injected along the geomagnetic field (i.e., field-aligned beams). It is suggested that the electron density profile of the F-region can be measured from the burst-type emission of such beams. Attention is also given to radio emission from intense auroral electron beams in the F and E regions under conditions of strong turbulence.
