The equation for the radiative recombination coefficient alpha(RR) of Li-like ions in the ground state is simplified by separating the energy regions contributing to radiative and dielectric recombinations. Alpha(RR) (in cu cm/sec) at temperature T (in deg K), ionization potential E(O) (in rydbergs), and threshold photoionization cross section sigma(O) (in megabarns, 10 to the -18th sq cm) is shown to be given by alpha(RR)(T) = 2.61 x 10 to the 6th sigma(O) E(O) sq/sq rt T. The results obtained with this expression are compared with those of previous methods. It is found that sigma(O) values varying only slowly with nuclear charge (Z) for Z greater than 8, as computed by Reilman and Manson (1978), are more consistent with the expression than the extrapolated values of Aldrovandi and Pequinot (1973). Alpha(RR)(10,000 K) for Z = 10, 12, 14, and 16 is determined to be 2.42 x 10 to the -13th, 5.14 x 10 to the 12th, 1.02 x 10 to the -11th, and 1.80 x 10 to the -11th cu cm/sec, respectively.
